Plastic Screw Anchors are used in telephone and CATV drop installations to anchor sheet metal or wood screws into concrete, masonry, cinder block, sheet rock and brick. Features • Made of high quality, weather resistant, impact resistant plastic. • Six effective anti-turning ribs prevent rotation of the anchor during tightening. • Flat concentric ribs give greater bearing surface for maximum holding strength. • Large open throat permits easy insertion of sheet metal or wood screws. • Oversized flange prevents anchor from pushing too far into hole or through sheet rock. • Engineered to minimize torque required to tighten screw. • Holding power varies with screw size and surrounding material. Average holding power in masonry is 203 lbs. using a #8 screw and 451 lbs. using a #14 screw. • Available in convenient kits or in bulk packaging. • Used as a standard by all major telephone companies and throughout the telecommunications industry. • R.E.A. accepted. Plastic-Screw Anchors can be installed easily by tapping the anchor into a drilled hole and torquing the specified size screw until it is fully seated against the item being secured. For best results, the screw must protrude 1/4"through the bottom of the anchor. To determine proper screw length, add the thickness of the item being fastened, plus the length of the anchor, plus 1/4". |
