TVC Announces Ken Olsen as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for US CATV Group
Annville, PA – TVC Communications is pleased to announce that Ken Olsen has been promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the U.S. CATV division. Mr. Olsen had been most recently Vice President and General Manager of TVC Latin America.
In this new role, Mr. Olsen will be responsible for all sales and product marketing activity within the U.S. CATV group. Jim Manari, Executive Vice President of TVC, said “Ken’s strong technical background as well as his business management experience will help TVC’s objectives of continued growth of traditional CATV hardware and distribution products while increasing TVC’s presence in the IP world.”
Olsen says “I look forward to the challenge of continuing the expansion of one of the most respected and successful distribution companies in the U.S. CATV marketplace. As the CATV market continues to evolve into a more technical, on-demand environment, we at TVC will be ready to respond to our customers by offering the IP products, technical services and system solutions needed to stay competitive.”
Mr. Olsen started in Cable TV in 1988 as a Regional Sales Manager for the former Raychem Corporation in New York selling outside plant materials to the regional phone company and CATV operators in the Northeast United States. In 1992, Ken moved to Anixter Cable TV, now known as ARRIS. After becoming Vice President of Comunicaciones Broadband, a joint venture company between ANTEC and Scientific Atlanta, Olsen left in 1997 to become President of White Mountain Cable Construction, which became Arguss Communications Group. Olsen left Arguss in 1999 to start Fairway Communications Corp. a fiber optic splicing and construction firm, which he ran until he was recalled to active military duty following 9/11. He served as the executive officer for current operations at US Southern Command. He retired as a Captain in the US Coast Guard Reserve in February, 2005. Ken is a graduate of Adelphi University with a BS in Earth Science and Harvard University with a MBA in general management. He is married to Diane and has two children, Kerri, a systems analyst in Washington, DC and Kevin, who will be a freshman at the University of Florida, this fall.
